PLL Episode 5x19 - Out, Damned Spot
Clues from the Episode that Aria is A
EPISODE TITLE - The title of this episode is a famous line said by Lady MacBeth in William Shakespeare's famous Play Macbeth. Basically, Lady MacBeth is starting to crack under the pressure of covering up, lying and hiding her crimes. There is obvious connection to literature with this title and if you notice Aria's behavior, the walls do seem to be closing in and she is beginning to crack under the pressure. In this episode, Aria has to content with both Hanna and Mike going off and investigating on their own.
Aria is seen taking a math test and looks totally unprepared and unable to focus on the task at hand. She notices Andrew's answers in view and cheats by copying his paper. This scene shows us that Aria is distracted lately and too preoccupied with other things to focus on schoolwork. Otherwise, why show this scene? However if you look closely at Aria's math test paper, you see that the first question states: "Solve for A". How ironic that right above this problem is the name Aria Montgomery and Aria and A continue to write the As the same way. |

Well, not sure it's actually brilliant because I can't really follow it, but it sounds right :) She basically used Math to find a hidden message that Aria is A in the Math Equations on the algebra exam that Aria takes and copies the answers off of Andrew's paper.
The girls pressure Aria throughout the episode about Mike helping Ali and insinuating that he is either A or connected to A. Aria refuses to believe this and continues to defend Mike to the girls. This is remniscent of the time that the girls suspected Ezra of being A and Aria was sure that he wasn't. Aria is sure neither is A because she already knows that she is. Anyway, Aria barges in on Mike and confronts him about his suspicious behavior of late and what he has been up to. Mike tells her that he doesn't have to anser to her. The song playing in the background is Wolf Like Me which is appropriate since Aria is now stalking Mike like a wolf stalking their prey.
In the final A scene of this episode we see A with a vial of Hanna's blood from the blood drive. A is adding drops of Hanna's blood to Mona's bloody clothing from the crime scene. This is likely payback for Hanna investigating on her own and questioning the other girls lately, particularly Aria.
